'Leaving on a jet plane...' (you know the song right?)

Do want to hear my latest fantasy? The latest dream world that I mentally disappeared into whilst squeezed in on the train this morning...

OK.
Tonight I go home, pour myself a glass of red, dig out my credit card and book myself on a flight to Oz.

One morning, in the not too distant future, the folks would wave me off at Heathrow. I'd be scared, I'd probably cry, but it would be good scared. You know the good scared you feel when you're starting a whole new chapter, a new chapter you know your going to grow and learn loads from. A bit like when you start a new job. Yea, that kind of scared.

I'd stop off in LA for a few days and stay in a fancy hotel. I'd see the tourist sights (feel like a Kardashian) and unwind into the carefree traveler way of thinking. Forget work, forget bills, forget doing stuff I have to do. Then I'd board a flight destined for the land of Oz.

I'd land in Melbourne, explore the city for a bit then book myself on a coach trip up the Gold Coast, where I would immediately bond with other travels. I'd poodle around, just going with the flow. All night beach baaaarbie? Sure! Naked midnight swim? Why not?! Fling with fit Aussie surf instructor? Count me IN!

I'd obviously take a trip to Summer Bay and Ramsey Street and take the obligatory FB photos beneath the street sign. I'd cure my OCD by staying in low rated youth hostels along with the Aussie bugs and snakes. I'd go visit my Aunt in Tazmania for a few days rest and catch up with a few school friends already out there.

The best bit for you guys..? I would blog about it. I would be that annoying person posting photos of 'the best sunset EVER!'. Whilst you sit at your desk in your lunch break eating your M&S sandwich, drinking a can of Diet Coke and counting the days until payday, I would be in my bikini on a beach with not a care in the world. I would be sharing all these wild experiences with you guys and my new found, life long travelling buddies.

After my two months stay I would board the flight home (or not, if my plan to get knocked up by that fit surf instructor pulls through) armed with life experiences, stories and a new found life confidence. I'd land back on UK soil and find myself back at home, in the same old town, barely changed expect for me with my whole new outlook and energy for life. I would job hunt and find work doing something different, something fun and creative to fill my time until my next adventure. Gone are the days of living to work, chained to the 9 to 5 desk and focusing on how much more money I need to take home each month to be able to shop in Waitrose full time and to have Sky installed. My new life attitude would be chilled and carefree. It sounds amaze...

I know what your thinking; that this is all a dream, that I've got to be realistic, where is all this money coming from? Well firstly you sound like my mum and secondly I'm no fool, I have assets! I could sell my car, leave enough in the bank to cover my mortgage for two months then just fuck of with the rest. I've thought this through guys.

Now the only question left to answer is this; which months have the best Aussie weather?

I get pierced!

Don't panic, nothing too scary - just my upper ear, but by-god was I a wimp about it. I thought I was being wild and spontaneous; it wasn't even planned, I was just supposed to be accompanying Blondie. We visited KK at her place of work on Saturday afternoon, she works for a high steet jewellers that also pierces teenagers, and babies, teeny tiny ears. I was merely meant to be holding the bags whilst Blondie sat anxiously on the chair in the window. But after seeing Blondie act so cool and collected (at which I was very impressed) I thought; I need to be cool and spontaneous and get this done too.

After half an hour of persuasion from Blondie and KK, and a few random people loitering in the shop, I gave KK the green light and she butchered, erm I mean pierced my ear. It actually didn't hurt at all. I immediately regretted the massive fuss I had been making, hopped off the stool and began strutting around the shop thinking about cool I was. Shame another piercing wasn't on my 30 Things list.

Speaking of which I need to tick a few things off, perhaps I should make it my mission to do this by the end of the year. There are a few of which I am working on...

6. Ride a motorbike
A guy from the pub is a keen motorcyclist - he has said he would show me the ropes. I've just got to be proactive about it and take him up on the offer.

9. Snog a teenager - probably do this every Saturday night, oh well, snog thousands of teenagers?!
Well this still stands although I am probably right, I think I do this most Saturdays, but until I know for sure he is under 20 it will not count. Ah well, best keep on chatting up those young'uns.

16. Be confident with my body for once in my life - pose for naked snaps!
Who hasn't done this?! Perhaps I should take this a little further and vow to get them printed and posted all around my flat in the style of Kim Kardashian. I look just as good as her right?

20. Win money on the lottery - gotta be in it to win it
Involving myself in the syndicate at work for the Euromillions. We have actually won a little but nothing worthy of ticking this off the list for.

21. Give blood
The blood donation people were visiting my local area the other weekend. I did have a lengthy thinking session about it but concluded that it was too soon - I'm still too much of a wimp. Next time, I promise.

30 things to do before 30

Back in December last year, I came up with the idea to compile a list of 30 things I want to achieve before turning the next mile stone age of 30. I set myself the challenge to compile the '30 things' by my 25th birthday in February just gone. However my life got a bit hectic, when I quite quickly decided to buy a flat. The '30 things' list sort of slipped down my one for priorities. I do however have 24 things listed.

I set myself no rules for the '30 things', I only wanted them to be realistically achievable - no point picking things I would never tick off. This list I will achieve. So, here is what I have so far...

1. Volunteer my time - dedicate some free time to a really good cause
2. Raise/donate at least £2000 for charity across 5 years
3. Get on TV - in the background or on the news, perhaps be an extra for a day
4. Be courageous - stare my fear in the face!
5. Learn to ski or snowboard on real live snow
6. Ride a motorbike
8. Go skinny dipping
9. Snog a teenager
10. Visit Oz
11. Fall crazily in love
12. Get another tattoo - one I love, with a great meaning
13. Make my parents see how much they mean to me and how gratefull I am to have them
14. Visit Paris and back - in one day
15. Be spontaneous and adventurous - take off for a holiday with no plans or reservations
16. Be confident with my body for once in my life - take naked snaps!

24. A road trip stateside
